The Brooklyn Nets Host FDNY Night at Barclays Center

This month, the Brooklyn Nets hosted FDNY Night, a special night that featured the New York City Fire Department’s men and women. As the Brooklyn Nets took on the Miami Heat, they also made time to give special nods to the FDNY.

First Deputy Commissioner Robert Turner and Brooklyn Borough Commander Chief Wayne T. Cartwright joined fellow members to open the game as Firefighter Frank Pizarro sang the National Anthem. The FDNY Color Guard then performed the Presentation of Colors. During halftime, students from the FDNY Exploring Program took to the court to rally the team and high five players before the second half.

A portion of ticket sale proceeds from the evening benefited the FDNY Foundation. “We are extremely grateful to the Brooklyn Nets and Barclays Center for their support of the FDNY Foundation and for the opportunity to join together in celebration of New York’s Bravest,” said Jean O’Shea, Executive Director.
