FDNY releases new PSA highlighting space heater safety tips

The FDNY and the FDNY Foundation have unveiled the official trailer and poster for our upcoming film, “An Extraordinary Measure.”
The latest production from FDNY Pro Films tells the story of how New York City EMS paramedicine made its debut a half century ago, advancing pre-hospital medical care exponentially, and how it evolved into the FDNY’s elite paramedic program of today.
It takes viewers back to New York City in 1974, when a pilot program offered advanced life support to the Bronx. The program has since expanded significantly, and over the last 50 years, medical calls have changed to include infectious diseases, mass casualty incidents and terrorism. The operational capabilities of paramedics have also changed, from modern equipment to advances in medicine.
Proceeds from the film support the lifesaving mission of the FDNY Foundation.
