FDNY Foundation Introduces this Year’s Calendar of Heroes Charity Initiative
In one of the most hotly anticipated events of the year, the FDNY officially released its 2015 Calendar of Heroes in Times Square on July 15. The calendar is the only official calendar of the FDNY and features 13 of the city’s bravest firefighters from across all five boroughs.
All of featured firefighters were on hand to meet fans and sign copies of the limited edition calendar.
Proceeds go to the FDNY Foundation. Sales of the calendar help the Foundation to provide safety and fire prevention programs throughout the city, as well as provide up-to-the minute training to FDNY members and ensure the department has the latest innovative equipment and technology.
“This fun yearly tradition is of great benefit to the work that we do,” said FDNY Foundation Chairman Stephen Ruzow. “It allows us to get information to our communities, the communities our brave FDNY members keep safe every day.”
“The most important part of the Fire Department is its members,” said FDNY Foundation Executive Director Jean O’Shea. “This calendar highlights some of those people and lets us help the FDNY protect millions of New Yorkers every year.”
