The FDNY Foundation congratulates all 104 Fire and EMS members on their promotions. This is a tremendous accomplishment in their careers! We thank them for their continued service and dedication to the FDNY and for helping keep all New Yorkers safe.
“Every one of you being promoted today has accomplished so much in your career already. There are hundreds and hundreds of hours of experience in this outstanding group. You fought fires and provided expert medical care. You’ve cared for and rescued New Yorkers at their worst moments. You have saved many lives, and you have done it with professionalism and dedication unmatched by any department in the world,” said Acting Fire Commissioner Kavanagh.
Acting Chief of Department John Hodgens said,” Promotions are among our very best days, it is a happy occasion in the FDNY. You are filling the shoes of those who came before you, those who taught and mentored you and now it’s your job to do the same, to lead by example. To teach the right way of doing things and to ensure the safety of the public we serve, and the FDNY members in your command.”
