September 25, 2024On Friday, September 13, the FDNY Foundation joined the FDNY for a promotion ceremony for 70 FDNY members on Staten Island.
The FDNY Foundation congratulates all 70 members on their promotions! This is a tremendous accomplishment for them and their families. We wish them continued success and thank them for their service and commitment to protecting the people and City of New York and proudly representing the FDNY.
“Your promotions today are making you leaders of the greatest fire department in the world. I know you are aware of how much responsibility comes with leadership. It’s your expertise and knowledge that will be called upon in very difficult situations, both on the fireground and in the firehouse. In your new roles I expect you will lead with patience and pragmatism, teach those below you, and mentor those just coming in the door,” said Fire Commissioner Robert S. Tucker.
“On every call, you have the opportunity to impact the life of a New Yorker. Your interactions during their time of need will leave a lasting impression. My hope, my expectation, is that lasting impression is one of respect, professionalism, and competence. It is an honor and privilege to wear this uniform and serve this city,” said Acting Chief of Department John Esposito.
The newly promoted Captains, Lieutenants, Supervising Fire Marshals, and Fire Marshals will be assigned to units throughout the city.
