FDNY Foundation Congratulates 87 Probationary EMTs on their Graduation

On Tuesday, September 24th, the FDNY Foundation joined the FDNY for a graduation ceremony for 87 Probationary EMTs in Brooklyn.

The FDNY Foundation congratulates the 87 Probationary EMTS who graduated today. They are a remarkable group and we wish them the best of luck in the FDNY. We thank them for choosing a career of service and commitment to protecting the people and City of New York, and proudly representing the FDNY. We would also like to acknowledge and thank the 3 military members who graduated.

“As EMS members at the FDNY – you are working for the greatest Department in the best city in the world. Treat every patient with kindness and respect. Continue learning. Wear your uniforms proudly, do your work with humility and be the best you can be. The work you do makes our city safer, and I cannot wait to see you do it,” said Fire Commissioner Robert S. Tucker.

“Every day, you will be the ones that people look for when they call 911 for help. You will have the chance to save someone’s life, provide comfort to injured or sick people and their families, and maybe make their terrible day a little better. It is a tremendously rewarding, but enormous, responsibility,” said Acting Chief of Department John Esposito.

“We at the FDNY always talk of family. It’s part of the culture for both EMS and Fire Operations. Family for me isn’t always blood, it is the men and women who don the FDNY uniforms and give their very best to their communities every day. You are now the best of the best. When the alarm sounds and others run away from the danger, it is you that charges into chaos and brings calm, compassion, and professionalism. I am grateful to have all of you as an addition to my FDNY family,” said Chief of EMS Operations Michael Fields.
