September 18, 2019Today, in an outstanding show of support for the FDNY, scores of celebrities from the sports, media, and entertainment world joined with business leaders to commemorate the 18th anniversary of 9/11 at the annual FDNY All-Star Celebrity Breakfast.
The event provided a venue for FDNY supporters and uniformed members to come together to remember 9/11 and reflect on the resiliency of the FDNY.
“This is obviously a very tough week for our Department, but each year at this event, we are reminded that there are so many people who stand with us, and are still ensuring that we will “Never Forget” the bravery displayed by the FDNY on that terrible day,” said FDNY Commissioner Daniel A. Nigro.
FDNY Foundation, Vice Chairman, Bob Zito expressed his appreciation for the many wonderful celebrities & athletes who joined us today, as well as the FDNY Foundation Board Members for their tireless fundraising efforts to support the FDNY Foundation. Mr. Zito thanked the many companies in attendance, with special mention to JP Morgan Chase & Co. for being our Sponsor for today’s event.
“Thank you all for being here today, as together we remember what the FDNY did 18 years ago, and offer our gratitude for the continued selfless work they do every day serving each one of us and the ones we love,” said Michael Regan, JP Morgan Chase & Co.
FDNY Chief of Department, John Sudnik thanked all joining us today who continue to assist the Foundation and the FDNY. “Your generosity helps us educate hundreds of thousands of New Yorkers, especially children, about the dangers of fire. Your support helps us maintain the highest level of training possible for our members. Your commitment to the FDNY Foundation helps ensure that the FDNY remains the best Fire Department in the world.”
The Master of Ceremonies was Sports Radio host and good friend to the FDNY, Mike Francesa.
