August 12, 2024On Wednesday, August 7th, the FDNY Foundation joined the FDNY for a Queens Boroughwide Plaque Dedication Ceremony at the Fire Academy on Randall’s Island. 16 FDNY members who we lost over the last year were remembered.
The FDNY Foundation will never forget these 16 members we have lost. We thank them for their service and sacrifice to the people and City of New York and the FDNY.
“We are here today to remember our members who are no longer with us. And while we gather today in a collective heartbreak, we are also proud to remember them, and to tell everyone about them. Their stories have become part of the fabric of the FDNY,” said First Deputy Commissioner Joseph Pfeifer.
“It is the work of these members, and all our members, day in and day out that leave a lasting impression. Their dedication to service, to helping each other, and to helping their communities is not something we will soon forget,” said Acting Chief of Department John Esposito.
