August 5, 2021FDNY Holds Brooklyn and Staten Island Boroughwide Plaque Dedication Ceremony
August 18, 2021On Wednesday, August 11, FDNY Commissioner Daniel A. Nigro presided over a Queens Boroughwide Plaque Dedication Ceremony in honor of 16 FDNY members who bravely served the Department in Queens.
“It is wonderful to see you all gathered here, after so many months of not seeing each other, as so many of these events were lost to us because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Some of the things the Fire Department is known for, our traditions, our gatherings, our community and our ability to gather in celebration, in mourning, in honor and in remembrance of those we have lost. We stand here today and aim to meet each of those goals, honoring 16 of our members whose lives were cut far too short. We will remember them, not in their deaths, but for how they lived their lives. Dedicated and proud and offering good work for this city. To all our families here today, know that our gratitude to your loved ones will never fade and neither will their wonderful spirits,” said Commissioner Nigro.
